Upcoming Events at Manor United Methodist Church
Worship Service:  In Person and Livestreaming 10:30 Sunday mornings

May 8: Mother's Day:  Every person who enters our doors on Mother's Day who identifies as female receives a cut flower from us.  We also pray for all the mothers of the world.
May 15: Probably not a special day for most people, but for Pastor Elizabeth and her classmates at  Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, it's a big day.  We are graduating with our MDivs and other Master's degrees.  You are welcome to join us on Zoom (just scan the QR code), in person or just pray for all the graduates.  We are a group that truly believes in the power of prayer.
May 29:  Ascension Sunday:  Five Star Collection Today!  Today we are tossing all our change and loose bills into the Star Basket.  We are collecting for UMCOR Materials Resources.  The United Methodist Committee on Relief provides kits and materials who suffer the effects of catastrophic weather, war, disease and famine.  In Texas we live under the very real threat of wild fires, floods and tornados (and sometimes even hurricanes).  When we have suffered, UMCOR comes in to help.  Help us help our brothers and sisters around the world.  If you would like to have more information about UMCOR, go to
June 5: Pentecost Sunday:  It's the birthday of the church!  Not Manor UMC, but the Christian church universal.  We'll be celebrating with communion.
June 19:  Two important days land on the same date this year.
Father's  Day: We will be celebrating Father's Day by giving every person who identifies as male a candy bar.
Juneteenth:  We will be praying for our society, for those who are still suffering injustice due to the color of their skin, and for those people who are still enslaved.

Month of July:  We're celebrating Christmas in July.  One of the ways we'll be celebrating will be in our collection of loose change and dollars to be put into our 5 Star offering baskets.  In July we will be collecting for the Lydia Patterson Institute, known to its Istudents and alumni as La Lydia.
July 31: 10:30  Hymn Sing Holiday and Family Dinner:  We are going to sing all our favorite Christmas carols that have not been sung during the month of July.  After the worship service ends, we will gather in the Fellowship Hall for our Christmas Potluck Dinner. Join us.
If you would like to know more about the Institute, check out their website:

While we observe the Ascension of Christ and Pentecost, the birthday of the Christian church, our brothers and sisters around the world, in other religions of the world are celebrating important events in their faith.  Remember, your faith is important to you, mine is important to me.  It's something everyone around the world has in common.
